Great Holidays For Wine Lovers At Napa Valley Wine Tours.

Northern California is famous and well known for its plain beauty of the redwood forests, ranch lands, high mountains, wine country, lakes and windswept sagebrush steppe. When visiting or weekending in Northern California, one of the things that you must do is to go on Napa Valley wine tours. There are over 300 wineries in this region and every one of them have their own attractions in some kind of wine-tasting event, wine appreciation class, or wine/grape-related activity.  There are different tours that can bring you to this lovely place. One of the tours is the straight-up Napa Valley wine tours where they visit two, three or more wineries in a group. During the visits, they will let you savor a number of varietals of wine and they even has a guided informational that covers everything from revealing the interesting history of the particular winery to introducing new wines to the guests on the tours.  Another of the tours are the special Napa Valley wine tours where they include the vehicle the guests are driven in, the accompanying entertainment and the bonus facilities at each winery stop.

One of the more classic and classy of the Napa Valley wine tours is the limousine tour and you can even pick whether you want a six- or eight-hour tour.  You then schedule a pick-up destination for your party and from there you and your party are chauffeured from the spot in a stretch limousine. The tour will take you all along the gorgeous hills and into the valleys of the Napa/Sonoma areas while you start with complimentary champagne, visit four or five wineries, and get expert lessons and advice at a “state-of-the-art” winemaking facility.  Then, the limousine takes your party for a indulged gourmet picnic lunch which is also featured at one of the wineries so that you can enjoy the panorama of hills and vineyard colors, smells, and subtle nature sounds while enjoying your lunch. This is one fine way to sample, learn, and fall in love with the area.

One of the more unusual activity and at the same time more intense versions of Napa Valley wine tours is the blind wine tasting experience.  This is not one wherein sighted folks are blindfolded but wherein visually impaired persons can still have the wine tasting and winery education. Legally blind visitors are taken to the vineyard where they physically pick the grapes and get an opportunity to savor them, as well.  Then, the group is presented a “palette testing” session with jelly beans.  They sniff and savor and try to identify the flavors.  The tour includes, of course, a wine-tasting hour where the group is ushered to the wine cave and they are given to savor a selected wine.

There are hundreds and hundreds of Napa Valley wine tours presented and the most special is the Napa Valley Wine Train tour. With this tour, your party can pick a dining car, whether the restored 1915-1917 Pullman Dining and Lounge car, most commonly call the “open-air railcar,” or the “glass-topped” 1947 Pullman Vista Dome dining car.  The seats are luxurious velvet and the sights are pure Northern California.  Even my friends, who were born, developed and living in northern California had taken the train once or twice a year.  Now that is Napa Valley Wine tours at the top of the quality.
